Pink Sketch #7

What a great scrappy week I had! I have created quite a few layouts, most of which I can share with you on October 1st, but my friend, Kristine, who knows just how much of a fan I am of BasicGrey, sent me Urban Prairie papers!! Thank you, Kristine! I simply could not wait to dig into these papers, so I used them the same day that I got them for Pink Sketch #7. I loved this sketch! Click the link to see the sketch and what the rest of the DT did with it. As usual, they created gorgeous pages! And don't forget, you still have time to apply for the Guest Designer Call at Pink Sketches too! Here is my page for Sketch #7:

KnK October Kit

Just a couple of pages to share with Kit 'n' Kaboodles October kit which you can see in my last blog post. This kit is just perfect for those fall pictures that many of us are starting to take with the changing leaves or a trip to the pumpking patch. Be sure to get your kit before they are sold out!
Those butterflies and dragonflies that you see on the above page are actually iron on transfers from SEI that come in the kit! They went on so easy and have a velvet-like texture. This was my first time using iron on images, and I love how they turned out! I'll have more to share tomorrow, so check back again!

Several random things to post today...

I have several things to mention today, and I'm just not sure where to start. I don't want you to miss out on any of the fun things going on right now, so I thought I would just post a few here. First of all, my friend, Chris, debuted her brand new, gorgeous card kits at Kit 'n' Kaboodles this week!

Aren't they beautiful? The name of the kit is "Candied Sunshine". Click here for more information on how to get your hands on this kit!

The October kit is up at Kit 'n' Kaboodles as well! Check out these beautiful, rich, autumn colors by Bo Bunny!

Click here for details on everything you get in this kit and be sure and check out the add ons as well! I will have some projects to share with you using this kit very soon!

I also want to tell you about the Guest Designer Call going on at Pink Sketches right now. The call is running now through October 5th. As guest designer, you will receive your sketch to work with one week prior to the reveal, and your layout will be displayed with the rest of the Design Team's pages for that week! Click here for more information on that.

I'm also waiting on the FedEx truck to get here with my goodies from Creative Scrappers! I am designing the October Layout Kit, and here is a little peek at some of the goodies you will be seeing:

Yes, that's right, it is Pink Paislee's Vintage Moon collection! Each layout kit comes with custom sketches based on the pages I create, either two one page layouts, or one two page layout, and all of the supplies needed to complete those pages with embellishments included, as well as enough supplies left over to do a few more pages on your own! Click here for more information on purchasing these kits. While you are there, be sure and check out Kristine's Creative Kits with her gorgeous mini albums!

And last, but not least, mark your calendars for an online crop coming up at Crop Addict starting at 6pm EST Friday, October 10 and running through 6pm EST Sunday, October 12. There will be tons of fabulous prizes, challenges and games, so be sure and join us for a fun-filled weekend!

That's all I can think of for now. I'm looking forward to an exciting evening of new TV shows tonight including the season premieres of Survivor and Grey's Anatomy!

BasicGrey Euphoria

Can I just say how much I love these papers? It is no secret that I am one of BasicGrey's biggest fans, so I used the Euphoria collection for both of my layouts for Creative Scrappers and Pink Sketches this week.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #18 was created by Liz Weber. This layout didn't photograph well, but here is my take on the sketch:

And click here for Pink Sketches Sketch #6. Here is my page using that sketch:

That's all for me this weekend. Hope you all are having a good one!

Back online!

The remnants of Hurricane Ike swept through our area on Sunday. Wind gusts were reported here in southern Indiana at 75-80 mph, knocking out our power, phone, internet, and water. Much of my family is still without power. We now have power and internet, but no phone, and we are supposed to be boiling our water. Gas and ice are pretty scarce around here. Here are a few pictures of some of the damage:

We have been spending a lot of time cleaning up, but are very thankful that we didn't have more damage than we did. I didn't get a chance to post my last page from Pink Sketches before the power went out, so here is my page using Sketch #5:

Click here to see what the rest of the DT did with this sketch. They did an awesome job! I'm a little behind with everything that has been going on, but I'll get caught up and have some more to show you this weekend. Hope you all have a great week!

How about another sketch challenge and some KnK creations?

Here are a couple more creations using the gorgeous September kit from Kit 'n' Kaboodles. I loved these Black Market Paper Society papers in this kit!

Now that I've figured out how to make basic sketches, I am having a hard time stopping! The next sketch challenge is up at Crop Addict, and here it is:

Create a multiphoto layout using this sketch:

Post your layout in the Crop Addict Sketch Challenge Gallery by midnight PST on September 20th. Here's my page using this sketch:

Hope you are having a great weekend! I have a peach cobbler in the oven to take to a family reunion today, and it is smelling so good!

Today's sketch blog reveals and some sketches of my own

Sundays are always fun because it means the reveals of new sketches and DT work at Creative Scrappers and Pink Sketches. Our sketch at Creative Scrappers this week was by Monika Martinson, and today's reveal was by the new DT for this term at Creative Scrappers, so be sure to check it out and leave them some love! Here is my page based on this sketch:

The sketch this week at Pink Sketches this week was a two pager. I can't even remember the last time I did a two page layout, so this was a good challenge for me.

I have also started creating my own sketches!! Now, I'm warning you, they aren't pretty, but I have been playing around with a rinky dink program on my computer and coming up with some very basic sketches to use for the Crop Addict sketch challenges. Here are a couple of recent ones that I created:

If you use one of my sketches, please be sure and post it for me to see in the Crop Addict sketch challenge gallery. My friend, Amy, posted her gorgeous page using the first sketch already! Thanks Amy! I'll work on finding a program that is easy enough for me to use and makes prettier sketches. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
